Is the hosted version of SlideShowPro Director different from the downloadable version?

Not really. There are a few little things here and there that only apply to the hosted environment, but the applications are virtually identical, with the exception of these utilities. This may change going forward as we expand the functionality of Director.

Do I need to purchase SlideShowPro Director along with my hosting subscription?

No. A hosting subscription includes SlideShowPro Director, so you don't need to purchase the product separately.

If I subscribe to the hosted version of SlideShowPro Director, do I still need SlideShowPro for Flash/Lightroom?

Yes. Both the self-install and hosted versions of SlideShowPro Director do not publish slideshows. Director simply publishes imagery and data for slideshows published using either SlideShowPro for Flash or SlideShowPro for Lightroom.

Do I upload my published slideshow to my hosting account?

No. You will need your own web server to host your published slideshow.

Do I get FTP access?

No. All management of your installation is handled through your web browser.

How do I access it through a browser?

As part of the sign-up process you choose your own subdomain, username and password. E.g, "yourname.slideshowpro.com".

Will any other hosting members have access to my content?

Absolutely not.

If I installed Director on my own web server after using your subscription service, can I move my content?

No. We don't provide a utility or mechanism to retrieve your uploaded content.

What happens to my content if I don't re-subscribe?

Your account, and all content associated with it, will be deleted. This also means that any slideshows you have that are loading content from your hosted installation will fail to operate. You will receive plenty of notices/warnings when your account subscription is coming up for renewal.

Is my content is safe/secure?

Absolutely. All uploaded content is backed up daily, so nothing is ever lost.

Any limit on how many images/videos I can upload?

No. Each account has unlimited content upload capacity.

Any limits on file size?

10mb is the max for each image, 100mb the max for each video.

Any limits on bandwidth?

No. We'll provide as much as you need.

Any limit on the number of albums/galleries I can create?

No. Create as many as you want.

How do upgrades work?

Whenever a new version of Director is released, we will update your installation so you're always be up to date with the latest build.

I want to cancel my subscription early. Can you refund the unused time?

We can cancel your account, but cannot refund any unused subscription time. All sales final.

Any restrictions on uploaded content subject matter?

See the Terms of Service for SlideShowPro Director hosting.

Will you notify me about downtime or other issues?

In the event where we need to take the service offline for maintenance, or if there's a major issue affecting hosting in general, we will update our status page at http://status.slideshowpro.com. This page is hosted off-site, away from our servers, so it will always be accessible.

Can I use my own domain to access my hosting account?

Yes. We offer a "Domain Mapping" account upgrade you may purchase after creating your hosting account that allows you to use a domain or sub-domain of your own.
