iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad users have the ability to add mobile player slideshows as application links on their home screens. This allows mobile slideshows to be loaded instantly without having to go through Safari or first loading the Flash slideshow. This also presents the mobile player in a window that has less browser chrome (especially on the iPad); giving Director even more screen space to publish photos and making the player feel (even closer) to being a native application.
To create a home screen icon, load your published slideshow in Safari. When you arrive at the mobile player, click the plus (+) button in Safari's navigation menu. Choose the "Add to Home Screen" option. Your SlideShowPro Director user avatar will be used for the application's icon. Enter a unique name for the link, then click the "Add" button. You should now have an direct link to the mobile slideshow on your home screen.
The icon that is used for the home screen is the same avatar currently assigned to the root administrative user in your installation of SlideShowPro Director. To edit, follow these steps:
1) Sign-in to SlideShowPro Director using the account profile with "Administrator" assigned as its Role. If there is more than one Administrator, you'd sign-in as the Administrator that installed / setup Director. If you are the sole user of SlideShowPro Director, you are the Administrator.
2) At the top-right of the Snapshot screen, click on your name. Your profile settings page will load.
3) Next to your avatar will be a "Change" button. Click it.
4) Follow the instructions to choose / upload an image from your local machine to edit.
5) Return to the mobile slideshow in Safari and repeat the steps to add it to your home screen. It should now display your updated avatar.
