Because SlideShowPro Director generates optimized images for all your slideshows, it can create a fair amount of content. This could be an issue on servers where hard disk space is limited. Here are a couple of tips you can use to help reduce SlideShowPro Director's disk space use.
If you know you'll never need images larger than a particular dimension, you can limit the size of your photo library archive through the application settings. First, click on the "Settings" link at the top-right of SlideShowPro Director's interface. Second, click the "Edit" button in the "Content Archive Size" box. You will be asked for a maximum image resolution for your images. For example, if you wanted to limit your images to a maximum size of 1800px, and would never need images published that are larger than that size, simply enter "1800". From then on any new images that are uploaded will be converted to 1800px (whichever dimension is the largest), and the originals you uploaded will be deleted.
The SlideShowPro Player offers a Full Screen Reformat parameter that allows new images to be generated when the slideshow is in full screen mode. Because there are around 10 or so different monitor resolutions in popular use, this means that additional images will be created as part of full screen reformatting. If you'd rather not generate reformatted content in full screen, set the parameter to "Off." When off, the images loading in the normal, HTML view of your slideshow will be used in full screen instead.
The most drastic option available would be to turn off SlideShowPro Director's large image publishing all together. This is handled through the DIRECTOR PUBLISHING/Large Publishing parameter in :stapi:/Lightroom. Turn this "Off", and the original images you uploaded to SlideShowPro Director will be returned and used in your slideshow instead of generating optimized duplicates.
