Anytime a photo or video is uploaded to an album it has an "active" appearance. This means the photo or video is included in the album when it is requested by a slideshow. You do however have additional appearance options, which we'll explain here.
As explained above, all photos and videos are "active" by default. To make an asset "inactive' so it isn't included in the album when requested by a slideshow, click on the photo or video to select (or shift/option click to select more than one), then click the deactivate button in the bottom menu (see right). When deactivated, the assets are still part of the album, they just aren't published when the album is requested. To bring them back, select the inactive asset then click the activate button.
SlideShowPro Director can automatically change the active/inactive appearance of a photo/video by calendar date. This allows you to create editorial schedules for album content depending on which day it is viewed in a slideshow. To setup an appearance schedule, double click on any photo/video. On the right under the "Appearance" header will be a select labeled "Show in album." The first two options, "Always" and "Never", are the same as "Active" and "Inactive" described above. "Starting...", "Until..." and "Between..." will display an input and calendar widget to set when the asset should be considered "active".
For example, if you wanted to show a photo a week from now, select "Starting..." then click on the day one week ahead. Click "Save", and the photo's appearance will change to inactive. Then at midnight on the day you selected, it will automatically change to active and be included in any slideshow that requests the album.
"Until..." is the opposite of "Starting...". When selected, a photo/video will change to inactive on the date you select (thus removing it from slideshow appearance).
"Between..." is a combination of the two by letting you set both the starting and ending active appearance setting.
