1.2.3 (8/15/08)

[FIXED] Fixed an issue with title and caption settings when a question mark was used.

[FIXED] Some installs were breaking when the PHP include path was not setting correctly.

[FIXED] Removed double text in album audio tab.

[FIXED] Some installs were inadvertently allowing the main gallery to be deleted.

[FIXED] A mistake in the French translation was causing parts of Director to break.

1.2.2 (8/11/08)

[FIXED] Bugs related to the mysqli addition in 1.2.1.

1.2.1 (8/11/08)

[NEW] Take advantage of myqli module in PHP when available.

[FIXED] Fix uploads from the Lightroom exporter.

[FIXED] Various bug fixes

1.2.0 (8/6/08)

[NEW] To upgrade an existing install of Director, the existing install must be running Director 1.1 or greater. To upgrade pre-1.1 installs, you will need to first upgrade to 1.1.9, then upgrade to 1.2.

[NEW] API for retrieving data and imagery for use outside of SlideShowPro.

[NEW] Administrators can now view other user's profiles, including their passwords. Handy for those installations that have issues sending emails to new users.

[NEW] Link templates are now exposed to more data, including the image title, caption and album name. Also, you can now tap into the on-demand image publishing system when created your link templates. To illustrate this, a new link template is included in the update that opens an optimized copy of the image at 800x800 in a chromeless popup window.

[NEW] Added new fields to user profile, giving API developers more data to play with when creating custom front-ends.

[NEW] Director now checks to see if you have setup a crossdomain.xml file and if you haven't, alerts you.

[NEW] Director now reads all EXIF/IPTC data and allows you to use it when in the album settings tab when creating link or caption presets.

[NEW] Added pagination to albums and galleries index pages.

[CHANGED] User management has been split out to its own tab. The preferences screen is now labeled "System Info" to better reflect its content.

[CHANGED] All dates are now stored in GMT for more consistency. Director also attempts to read the time zone of your local machine and modify the dates to match when displaying them in the interface.

[CHANGED] Director now loads an optimized copy of the image when editing in the Content tab, which generally speeds everything up.

[FIXED] Batch selection in the Content tab was broken when using a Mac.

[FIXED] Using international characters in the Album settings tab would cause Director to freeze.

[FIXED] The process to set image metadata defaults in the Album settings tab has been reworked and is now more efficient.

[FIXED] Images copied from one album to another did not respect the target album's sorting preset.

[FIXED] A bug in the resize computations caused some images not to be downsized correctly when using ImageMagick.

1.1.9 (1/23/08)

[FIXED] The new parameters in 1.1.8 were not completely compatible with the older ImageMagick 5 series.

1.1.8 (1/22/08)

[NEW] Support for the vidpreview XML parameter introduced in the beta for SlideShowPro 1.7. Director now uses your assigned video thumbnail to create the preview with on-demand image publishing.

[CHANGED] The .htaccess file that ships with Director now uses the alternative implementation found here.

[CHANGED] Make sure that 16-bit ImageMagick installs convert optimized imagery at 8-bit, lowering file sizes.

[FIXED] Installations that use a socket along with the MySQL hostname should behave properly after installation.

[FIXED] A nasty bug was introduced in PHP 5.2.5 that would cause problems with the include path in PHP. We've implemented a workaround for this issue in Director.

1.1.7 (12/5/07)

[FIXED] With PHP 5.2.4 and above, there was a variable conflict that caused problems with how Director identified what image processing library you were using. Should be fixed in 1.1.7.

[FIXED] Upgrades of older Director installs should now properly rearrange the files during the upgrade process.

[FIXED] Stray NULL records no longer created in the images table of the database.

1.1.6 (11/16/07)

[FIXED] Avatars were not properly uploading on some servers.

[FIXED] Some language packs were not working correctly with certain Director functions.

[FIXED] Images uploaded to the end of an album in "Manual" sorting mode weren't always keeping the correct order.

1.1.5 (11/6/07)

[FIXED] On servers that do not support rotation, the focal point button would incorrectly be hidden. Fixed in 1.1.5.

[FIXED] When replacing an existing image, the image cache is now properly cleared.

[FIXED] Certain characters in caption/link/title templates would cause the templates to fail.

[FIXED] Emailing from servers without the mbstring extension now works.

[FIXED] Form buttons in Safari 3 are aqua styled once again.

1.1.4 (10/18/07)

[FIXED] Portrait images over a certain aspect ratio were not being scaled correctly. This problem also manifested itself in slideshows not honoring the focal point setting.

[FIXED] When adding a user and changing their permissions, adding another user would cause weird errors. Fixed in 1.1.4.

[FIXED] Some high aspect portrait images caused the layout in the Content tab to break.

[FIXED] Batch deleting images was causing some servers to throw a 500 error.

1.1.3 (10/11/07)

[FIXED] Some users were experiencing blank screens after upgrading to 1.1.2. This should be fixed.

[FIXED] Image publishing wasn't correctly identifying ImageMagick in 1.1.2. Fixed now.

1.1.2 (10/10/07)

[FIXED] Sometimes changing the image order, album image links, etc would cause a 500 error due to server limitations. This should be fixed in 1.1.2.

[FIXED] Client side caching. Director now works with your browser and only sends a new image down the pipe if your browser doesn't have it in the cache. This should significantly reduce bandwidth as well as making your slideshows seem snappier.

[FIXED] Custom themes placed in the ssp_director/themes folder now work properly.

[FIXED] Manage users is now open to all administrators, not just the user who setup Director initially.

[NEW] Added a FORCE_GD parameter to user_setup.php. For those having problems with ImageMagick, this is a way to force Director to use GD instead.

1.1.1 (10/5/07)

[FIXED] After upgrade, some installs would result in a blank page. This is fixed in 1.1.1.

[FIXED] H264 formatted videos uploaded via FTP are now recognized and added by Director.

[FIXED] Links were not clearing properly when using the generate interface

[FIXED] Only show new version available messages when the x version has changed (1.0.x, 1.x no 1.0.9.x)

[FIXED] Errors when uploading are now properly caught and the user is informed.

[FIXED] The "Browse" button on the upload page does not show up until the proper components have loaded, most likely taking care of any "Click the browse button but nothing happens" reports.

[FIXED] Repetitive code for images.php all moved to a single location.

[FIXED] Various issues found in the 1.0.8 migration that should bring greater server compatibility/stability.

[FIXED] The "Include in slide show" checkbox in edit images works again.

[FIXED] Patched a few security risks that could enable a logged in user to commit a cross site scripting attack (XSS).

[FIXED] Filenames are now properly encoded when written to the XML document.

[FIXED] Director now takes into account for filenames with multiple periods (ex: file.1.jpg)

[NEW] More control when filling captions

[NEW] Image processing now built in

[NEW] Director now creates a set of internal thumbnails to speed up the edit image interface considerably

[NEW] Rotate images from inside the application

[FIXED] Various visual bugs in IE6.

[FIXED] More meaningful error messages when uploading an album fails.

1.0.1 (5/23/06)
