SlideShowPro for Flash

PHP XML Builder Script

This SlideShowPro PHP XML Builder Script script was written to provide SlideShowPro for Flash users with a quick and easy way to dynamically load slideshow content and associated thumbnail images without coding a static XML file. The script is available on from the SlideShowPro for Flash or SlideShowPro Standalone product page at the Account Center.

Requirements

Web server with PHP 4 or 5

Instructions

1. Create a folder on your desktop for your gallery content (e.g, "gallery").

2. Inside "gallery," create folders for each album you want to load in SlideShowPro for Flash.

3. For each album folder you create, create two folders inside named "lg" and "tn". When complete you should have a directory structure similar to this:

gallery/album1/lg/
gallery/album1/tn/

4. Create images for SlideShowPro to use and save the large versions to the "lg" directory. Then create smaller versions for the link preview thumbnails with each named the same as their large counterparts. By the end you should have images with matching file names in both the "lg" and "tn" folders.

5. If you would like your album(s) to have preview thumbnails, create them as well and save to the root of their respective album directory. They should all be named "albumPreview.jpg" For example:

 gallery/album1/albumPreview.jpg

6. When complete, copy the images.php document to the root of "gallery". For example:

 gallery/images.php

7. Finally, upload "gallery" anywhere on your web server. Then assign to SlideShowPro's XML File Path parameter in the Component Inspector the absolute path to the images.php file. For example:

 http://mydomain.com/gallery/images.php

8. Publish a movie and your content should load.

Updating

Updating an existing slideshow linked to images.php is easy. Simply create additional content (large images and matching thumbnails) and upload them to either an existing album, or create new albums following the above directions. The next time your slideshow loads the images.php file the content will be updated.

Editing

If for whatever reason you need to change the static defaults of "lg", "tn" and "albumPreview.jpg" you can do so by editing the variables at the top of images.php.
