Director data won't load

If you are using SlideShowPro Director and see a "Slideshow data not found" error, the likely reason is that the Flash Player running inside Lightroom can't load Director data because of a security block. This is a security feature provided by Adobe. Fortunately, there's an easy way to get around the security wall. Here's how.

Fix for the self-install version of Director

You need to add/modify what's called a "cross domain policy file" to the root of your web site. Here's how.

  1. Go to http://crossdomainmaker.com
  2. Enter * (a single asterisk) in the "Enter domain" field. Click "Add".
  3. A preview of the generated XML will be displayed underneath. Click the "Download crossdomain.xml" button to download the file.
  4. Connect to your web site and upload "crossdomain.xml" to the root of the public web directory. For example, "http://yoursite.com/crossdomain.xml".

Quit/relaunch Lightroom and try loading your Director content again.

If you already have a crossdomain.xml file at your site, you can replace it with the one you downloaded. The asterisk is a wildcard value, which means your existing slideshows will still be able to load content.

Fix for the hosted version of Director

If we are hosting your Director installation as part of a hosting subscription, you edit cross domain access through Director's "Friendly Domains" utility.

  1. Log in to Director at http://<username>.slideshowpro.com/users/login
  2. Click the Account Info link at the top left of the page
  3. Remove any domains you have added under the Friendly Domains section
Note:If the data still does not load after following these directions, please contact us
