SlideShowPro Player for Lightroom provides a variety of built-in options for displaying image captions in your slideshow. As covered in the Captions section of the User Guide, every caption in SlideShowPro Player for Lightroom is made up of two text fields that are populated by the "Title" and "Caption" drop-downs in the "Image Info" panel.
Regardless of which options you choose for "Title" and "Caption," their values are assigned to every image in your slideshow. This works great for automated options like "Sequence", but what if you want to display unique text for each image? You do so through the metadata embedded in your images. Here's how.

Click on the "Library" link at the top-right of Lightroom to load your Library, then click on the image you want to assign a unique title/caption to. After doing so you can shift-click on another image to select a range, or Command/CTRL click to select without a range. When complete, open the "Metadata" panel at the bottom right of the right column. In the drop-down to the left of "Metadata," select "IPTC." The panel area will display all of the metadata currently assigned. Blank fields mean that no metadata exists.
Enter your custom image caption in the "Caption" field, then enter your custom titles in the "Headline" field (see left). The text will be assigned automatically (no Save button to click). When complete, click on the "Web" link at the top-right of Lightroom to return to the SlideShowPro Player for Lightroom interface.

Next open the aforementioned "Image Info" panel, and click on the drop down immediately to the right of "Title." Select the "Edit" option at the bottom. A new window will appear named "Text Template Editor." Click inside the text area at the top and delete the text currently there. Then toggle-open the first drop-down in the "IPTC Data" area, select "Headline," then press the "Insert" button. "Headline" should now appear at the top of the dialog window. When complete click "Done" at the bottom right. SlideShowPro Player for Lightroom will refresh and display the Headline metadata assigned to your images in the Caption Header.
Your captions (by default) already use the "Caption" IPTC metadata assigned to them, but if you changed the default setting you simply follow the same steps as above for "Title" except you choose "Caption" in the Text Template Editor panel.
With all your titles/captions set you can now export your slideshow to display online.
