If you’ve published two or more slideshows (each with the same appearance) and you’d like to combine the content into a single presentation, this chapter will show you how.
Using the instructions in the previous chapter, create the “master” slideshow you’d like to use for your content, then click the “Export...” button. Create a new folder on your hard drive, and click OK. Lightroom will export all requisite files to this directory. When complete, return to Lightroom and select a different group of images in the Filmstrip (your second album), and export again. Create a new folder alongside your previous one, and export again. Repeat this process for each album you want to display in your gallery.
Inside the “gallery” folder of each slideshow you published is a folder titled “album1”. If this is your second album, change the folder name to “album2.” Move the folder to the “gallery” folder from your first export. You should now have folders for “album1” and “album2” alongside each other. Repeat this process for each additional album, incrementing the number at the end of “album” each time.
Open the “images.xml” file published with your second album. Copy to your clipboard everything from the opening <album> element to the closing </album> element. Next, open the “images.xml” file published with your first album. Create a new line after the closing </album> element, and paste. Your first album’s images.xml file should now have two <album> groups inside. Finally, edit all mentions of “album1” assigned in the second album group you pasted in to “album2” (a find/replace for the selected text would be quickest). This will change all relative paths to point at the “album2” folder you moved in step two. You are done with album2, and can now repeat the same process for each additional album you wish to group together.
With all your exported slideshow content inside the “gallery” folder of your first slideshow, and the XML file edited so that all paths are pointing to the right places, open “index.html” in your web browser. Click the gallery button at the far left of SlideShowPro for Lightroom’s navigation bar. All your albums should now be appearing together in one gallery.
