Updating

Note: As of June 28, 2011 we are no longer supporting SlidePress or selling the SlideShowPro Player SWF product it uses. For legacy users we are keeping this support documentation online. If you have any questions or concerns click the 'Email support staff' link in the left column.

SlidePress consists of two components. One, the WordPress plugin, and two, the SlideShowPro Player.

Updating WordPress plugin

When new versions of the WordPress plugin are made available, you will be notified in the "Plugins" section of the WordPress control panel. From there you will have the option to automatically upgrade your plugin or download the files to manually update yourself.

Automatic update instructions

For the majority of users, we recommend choosing the automatic option. Simply click on the "Upgrade" text link presented to you in the "Plugins" section and WordPress will take care of the rest.

Manual update instructions

1) Backup your plugins/slidepress directory by either duplicating it or placing a copy on your desktop.
2) Visit the "Plugins" area of WordPress and deactivate SlidePress by clicking its "Deactivate" text link.
3) Overwrite all of the files in the wp-content/plugins/slidepress directory with the new plugin you downloaded.
4) When finished, return to the "Plugins" area and activate SlidePress.

Updating the SlideShowPro player

Unlike the WordPress plugin, the SlideShowPro player can only be updated manually. New releases of SlideShowPro Player SWF will be announced through our site news as well as our monthly email newsletter.

Note: The SlideShowPro player does not need to be updated alongside a WordPress plugin update unless communicated otherwise.

Instructions

1) Visit the Account Center and download the latest version of SlideShowPro Player SWF. Unpack the ZIP.
2) Navigate to "wp-content/uploads/slidepress/flash" in your WordPress installation and overwrite the "slideshowpro.swf" document that's there with the "slideshowpro.swf" file in the "Embed" directory of the ZIP you unpacked.
