ThumbGrid

Error messages

Here are some common error messages you may see in the Output panel of Flash when using ThumbGrid.

No SlideShowPro instance found

ThumbGrid tried to find an instance of the SlideShowPro Player in your FLA and came up dry. To remedy, click on the instance of the SlideShowPro Player on the Stage and open the Properties panel (Window > Properties). Note the value assigned for its instance name. If it doesn't have one (field displays "<Instance Name>") name it "my_ssp" (the default value ThumbGrid looks for). Next, click on the instance of ThumbGrid, open the the Component Inspector panel (Window > Component Inspector), and compare it to the value of SlideShowPro Instance. These values must be exactly the same. When both match, the error should go away.

1034: Type Coercion failed

You may have assigned the same instance name to both the SlideShowPro Player and ThumbGrid. Click on each, and open the Properties panel to see what instance names are assigned. Each should have their own (unique) name. For example, "my_tg" for ThumbGrid and "my_ssp" for SlideShowPro.

1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: SSPDataEvent.

This error appears if your FLA contains an instance of the SlideShowPro Player that is older than version 1.8.9.6. To remedy the error, delete the instance of the SlideShowPro Player from the Stage (and the FLA's Library). Save the FLA, and quit Flash.

Next, download and install the latest version of SlideShowPro Player for Flash from your account center profile page. When installed, launch Flash, and open your old FLA. Add a new instance of the SlideShowPro Player component to it. Make sure you give it an instance name that matches what's assigned to ThumbGrid's SlideShowPro Instance parameter. The error should then go away.
